Hypnagogia

Installation · 2026 · group project

Built tent structure in a dark room with a projected grid mapped across it. The same tent structure under orange hypnagogic ripples of projected light.
7 ft structure. Wood, metal, rope, fabric.

Experiencing the vividness of sleep, Hypnagogic Paralysis is the most frequent; taking inspiration from indigenous futurism crossed with gothic neuro-architecture. I now try to explore what I once feared and attempt to create the same feeling in a structured physical space. The whole place is intended to be delirious yet dreamy.

Frantic Fusion

Painting · 2026 · independent

Bird's-eye-view painting of a band playing, circling a deep purple vortex.
Acrylic on canvas, 35 × 18 in.

A sudden feeling in the soul where everything drops, and you let the music take you on. Each musician's full presence as they concentrate on drums, bass, guitar, and piano. The mix of everyone's color radiating the feeling of the purple space.

ABIGARRADO

Mural · 2026 · commissioned · UC Santa Barbara

Surreal mural of California cliffs in saturated magenta, yellow and violet, with a tower on the ridge.
Acrylic on panel, 4 × 12 ft. San Miguel Stage, UC Santa Barbara.

Bypassing the ambiguity of contemporary life and the spaces we inhabit, I want the viewer to see ABIGARRADO at a distance, only to discover something else as they move closer. Forms begin to breathe, light, pattern, and movement reveal themselves, hinting at unseen life within the landscape. A vivid waltz that drifts across the sky.
